At our Siemens Foundational Technologies Development Center we are focused on a product development including software development, hardware development, mechanical design, and testing for the next generation concept of Industry 4.0.
We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join our team working on the next generation of the SIMATIC ET 200 family – our industry-leading decentralized I/O systems. As we expand our portfolio with new I/O modules and implement advanced communication protocols, we're creating solutions that define the future of industrial automation. You will work with Python-based test automation, modern test infrastructure, and CI/CD practices to support integration, system, performance, and certification testing. The role combines hands-on engineering with continuous improvement of test processes and tools. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, improving test coverage and efficiency, and working on products with real-world industrial impact. It also offers room to deepen your expertise in test automation within an experienced engineering organization.
Co budeš dělat
- System Testing: Perform thorough system testing of new and updated products within Siemens
- Design, develop, and maintain automated tests in Python
- Perform integration, system, performance, and certification testing
- Develop and maintain reliable test infrastructure and test setups
- Analyze and report test results effectively
- Create and maintain test documentation in line with defined standards
- Stay current with emerging testing technologies
- Implement innovative testing approaches
- Use AI tools in day-to-day engineering workflows to improve speed, quality, and collaboration
- Work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Document and share technical knowledge
- Contribute to team knowledge base and best practices
Koho hledáme
- PLC Programming: Familiarity with PLC programming, preferably with Siemens products.
- Working knowledge of Python or a similar programming language
- Experience as a Test Automation Engineer
- Experience with industrial automation systems
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, … )
- Experience with TIA Portal or similar automation tools
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git
- Basic understanding of CI/CD practices
- Electrical engineering background (per Section 6 of Act No. 250/2021 Coll. and Government Order No. 194/2022)
- Good written and spoken English
- Team-oriented approach
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
