Why This Role Exists
Ingersoll Rand spends approximately $250 million annually on freight — across a complex, multi-business-unit footprint spanning North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Latin America. Until now, that spend has operated without a dedicated Global Logistics function, unified strategy, or shared enterprise standards.
That changes now.
We are building a world-class Global Logistics function from the ground up — organized around four PODs, each led by a direct report to the Head of Global Logistics. The International Logistics & Warehousing POD is the most complex and highest-risk.
This role owns $1000M+ in international & 3PL freight spend — Ocean FCL/LCL, heavyweight air, freight forwarding, warehousing, drayage, and customs brokerage — across all nine Ingersoll Rand business units globally. - Full ownership of $100M+ in international freight spend — Contract warehousing, Ocean FCL/LCL, heavyweight air, forwarding, drayage, and customs brokerage across all nine Ingersoll Rand business units
- Design and execution of a multi-year International Logistics category strategy aligned to the company's $250M freight transformation roadmap
- Annual and strategic RFQs across all spend; driving spend under contract and eliminating uncontracted quoting environments
- Customs brokerage strategy and compliance oversight across all trade lanes, including tariff intelligence, duty exposure modeling, and proactive communication to BU finance partners
- External rate benchmarking to validate incumbent proposals and sharpen commercial strategy
- Ownership of the International Logistics & Contract warehousing balanced scorecard — Service, Quality, Delivery, and Cost/Productivity — with proactive push of performance and market intelligence to BU leadership
- Lead 3PL strategy and governance, including network design input, provider segmentation, contract negotiations, service reviews, and performance management across outsourced logistics partners
- Own contract warehousing strategy and oversight, including footprint rationalization, storage and handling cost optimization, inventory-related service expectations, and alignment of warehouse partners to BU growth and service requirements
- Cross-border lane disruption response, contingency planning, and M&A assimilation onto IR carrier and logistics standards
- Enterprise KPI contribution — standing up OTD baselines, D&D metrics, and AI-assisted spend visibility for international modes

- Experience in the following is strongly preferred: WMS implementation and warehouse systems management, procurement partnership and sourcing execution, 3PL and contract warehousing governance, and international freight RFQ execution.
