The Accountant is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping including accounts payable, reconciliations, and record keeping. This role will be responsible for accurate and timely reporting of all transactions; identifying and resolving discrepancies, and regular reconciliation of financial accounts. In addition, the Accountant will work closely with the Accounts Payable Manager to ensure compliance with all accounting, regulatory, and tax-related transactions and issues. The role will report to the Accounts Payable Manager.

- Daily & Monthly Accounting Tasks
- Enter supplier invoices into Bill.com with appropriate coding and categorization
- Maintain accurate books in QuickBooks Online, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Match supplier invoices to corresponding sales data to verify product-level margins and COGS
- Reconcile sales records against payment receipts to ensure complete and accurate revenue reporting
- Track and report on unearned income (orders that are unfulfilled at month-end)
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax submissions
- Financial Review & Audit
- Perform monthly reasonableness checks on financials (e.g., unexplained changes in expenses or margins)
- Investigate discrepancies or inconsistencies across supplier, sales, or bank data
- Audit and adjust COGS, contribution margin, and other key accounts in QuickBooks
- Ensure classification accuracy and completeness across all financial statements
- Reporting & Insight
- Prepare monthly management reports with clear financial summaries, variances, and insights
- Highlight significant changes or trends in revenue, margins, or expenses
- Identify errors or risks early and suggest corrective actions
- Process Ownership & Improvement
- Build or improve accounting workflows and templates for recurring tasks
- Identify and implement process improvements for invoice handling, margin review, and reconciliation
- Maintain internal checklists for close procedures and recurring financial reviews
Koho hledáme
- 5+ years of experience in full-cycle accounting, preferably in a small business or eCommerce setting
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Excel/Google Sheets
- Comfortable with manual data entry (e.g., supplier invoices, adjustments, journal entries)
- Experience reconciling sales data with payments and supplier costs with product sales
- Familiarity with key accounting concepts: COGS, contribution margin, unearned income, accruals
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a mindset for accuracy and completeness
- Ability to question anomalies, investigate inconsistencies, and suggest improvements
- Strong communication skills — can clearly explain findings and decisions in writing or meetings
- Capable of working independently, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines without oversight
