(Senior) Research Associate, Cell Biology

Who we’re looking for

• Qualification as biological/medical assistant or Ba or MSc in biology, biochemistry or related field.
• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture is desired.
• Preparation of chemical solutions and immunoassays.
• Experience in flow cytometry, molecular biology, protein purification and characterization (affinity, SDS-PAGE, etc.) and handling of bacterial cultures is a plus.
• Meticulous attention to detail, good organizational skills, and strength in problem-solving.
• Attitude and enthusiasm towards learning new techniques, improving upon existing processes, and understanding and explaining the “why” behind experimental protocols.
• Sense of responsibility regarding experimental work, the team and the mission of Ampersand.
• Adaptivity to language requirements. Our team is international, written documents like experimental protocols and records are in English language.

What you’ll do

• Mammalian cell line maintenance and cryopreservation.
• Animal primary cell isolation and cell enrichment.
• Cell-based assays – flow cytometry, ELISA, immunofluorescence, cell sorting, cell line development, transfection
• Molecular cloning, modification, and expression studies.
• Protein labeling techniques for visualization, tracking, and analysis.
• Cleaning and sterilization of lab materials, maintenance of lab equipment, preparation of growth media, agar plates and buffer solutions.
• Implementation and documentation of dedicated work according to detailed protocols and standard operating procedures.
• Support of teams with standard tasks such as DNA preparation, protein analysis.
• Contribute to building a positive, team-oriented culture.
