Who we’re looking for
- Working knowledge of Linux.
- Experience in programming, Go language is preference, Python and Rust are welcome
- Solid written and verbal English communication skills.
- Comfortable using AI SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) frameworks
- Experience with Jira and Git-based workflows (GitHub or GitLab).
- Basic familiarity with OCI containers, Docker, or Kubernetes is needed
- Understanding of how Open Source and Free Software communities work is a plus
What you’ll do
- Participate on a scrum team.
- Track tasks and complete them on a given timeline.
- Give demos to your peers on work you’ve completed each sprint.
- Design technical solutions to abstract problems.
- Ensure test plans for the code you create exist and that documentation is correct.
- Design automated test plans.
- Respond quickly to security threats.
- Thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
About the position
The Red Hat Container Tools team is looking for a Junior or Software Engineer to join our global presence to develop container technologies to support internal and external customers. A candidate should expect to write code, review pull requests, fix bugs, update docs, and work in multiple technical areas like Podman, Buildah, Skopeo, and/or other container-related technologies. Candidates should be comfortable with working within cross-functional teams to execute development plans and to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity to work on emerging technologies and possibly create new ones.
