Job summary
greehill is seeking fixed-term Field Scanning Navigators to conduct terrestrial and mobile LiDAR scanning of urban trees and objects across Europe. The role includes survey planning, field data collection, equipment maintenance, logistics, geodetic/GIS tasks, and optionally post-processing with Riegl software (training provided). Candidates should have field surveying experience, strong laser-scanning and technical skills, GIS/geodetic knowledge, a valid driving licence, and good English. A surveying degree and additional European languages are advantages. The schedule typically involves two weeks in the field followed by one week off. Travel, transport, accommodation, and per diem are covered. Contract runs through the end of October; applicants must have the necessary permits to work in Hungary.
Who we’re looking for
- Relevant working experience in field surveying.
- Strong technical understanding and proficiency in using laser scanning equipment.
- Competence in geodetic and GIS-related tasks.
- Good technical sense and a strong interest in state-of-the-art technologies.
- Valid driver’s license with a safety-conscious, responsible driving style.
- Good command of the English language.
What you’ll do
- Plan each area scanning as an individual project.
- Scan trees and urban objects in various European countries (parks and streets).
- Perform basic maintenance and installation tasks for the equipment.
- Optional: Conduct post-processing of scanned data using Riegl Software (training provided).
- Ensure smooth logistics of the survey equipment.
- Maintain assertive and professional communication with local authorities during survey projects, with the full support of our HQ.
