O pozici
OHB Czechspace s.r.o. was established in 2017 and is part of the OHB SE technology group. As a member of one of the major independent groups in the European space industry, OHB Czechspace plays a significant role. With a young team of well-trained and highly skilled engineers, the company has proven its competence through contributions to several internationally recognized projects. The main business activities of OHB Czechspace focus on the development, system integration, and supply of structural, thermal, and optical subsystems, payloads, MGSE, and launcher structures. These activities include structural and thermal analyses, mechanical and thermal design, mechanical testing, procurement, as well as quality and product assurance. Since its establishment, OHB Czechspace has been involved in several key European Space Agency (ESA) programmes, such as the planetary defence missions HERA and RAMSES, the science and exploration missions PLATO and Comet Interceptor, and the space transportation mission NEP RocketRoll. Most recently, the SOVA S mission has successfully passed the prestigious ESA selection process and is now progressing towards implementation. Join our team and be part of shaping the future of space.
Co budeš dělat
- The Avionics System Engineer ensures the coherent design, development, integration, and performance of the spacecraft avionics system, including all related subsystems.
- The role acts as the primary technical interface to the avionics subcontractor and works in close cooperation with the Subcontract Manager.
- The engineer is responsible for the definition, development, and control of the avionics architecture (platform and flight), including full lifecycle ownership of system and subsystem requirements. This includes requirement definition, flow-down, maintenance, and bidirectional traceability, ensuring alignment with overall spacecraft system needs and performance objectives.
- The key aspect of this role is strong and proactive supplier oversight — ensuring compliance with technical, quality, schedule, and performance requirements through structured follow-up, clear expectation setting, and timely escalation when needed.
- The role oversees and steers the development, integration, and verification of key avionics subsystems: AOCS, Data Handling and Payload Data Handling, Telemetry, Tracking & Command (TT&C), Data Downlink, and Communications, Power subsystem (including system-level power analysis, solar generator sizing, and accommodation), Harness subsystem (including routing optimization and modularity in cooperat
- The Avionics System Engineer ensures proper interface definition and coordination between avionics, platform, and MTP accommodation requirements. The role controls platform architecture consistency and component maturity (TRL), and ensures compliance with system-level constraints.
- Additional responsibilities include coordination of EMC and radiation engineering activities, technical coordination of avionics subcontractor AIT activities (including EFM, PFM, SCOE, and Suitcase models), and support to overall spacecraft integration and verification.
- The role contributes to FDIR definition within its scope and is responsible for reviewing and approving relevant technical documentation. It also involves making or escalating technical decisions, proposing solutions to identified issues, and ensuring proper reporting of impacts.
- The Avionics System Engineer performs technical coordination of assigned resources and ensures high-quality, consistent, and timely delivery of avionics solutions. The role is supported by the Electrical Design Expert.
